Venerable Geshe-la teaches us many methods to reach Keajra Pure Land, e.g. by concentrating in meditation and during retreat we can make progress through the mental abidings until we reach tranquil abiding on generation stage of Vajrayogini. Once we do this, it won’t be long before we attain outer Dakini Land. When a practitioner has achieved outer pure Dakini Land they are in a Pure Land where there is no ageing, sickness or death. They can travel to other Pure Lands. They will quickly attain the Union of No More Learning.

The first 4 mental abidings can be attained in our daily practice. Then if we engage in strict retreat we can attain tranquil abiding in 6 months.

However even if we don’t attain tranquil abiding before death, we can still reach Keajra by remembering our self-generation at the time of death. Summer Festival 2009:

Practitioners of self-generation do not need to train in powa. If you train in this at the time of death you will definitely be in Keajra. If we train before death then because of our familiarity we will believe that in the vast space of emptiness I appear in Keajra as Vajrayogini surrounded by heroes and heroines. So we are there. Our pure land of Keajra is where we will be. Therefore we do not need a separate powa practice for transference of consciousness. We are doing a good job for our countless future lives. If we only think about today we are not being kind to ourself. If we want to be kind to ourself we have to prepare for our countless future lives, so we have to learn this kind of meditation.

Long term benefit.

When we are born in Keajra we will attain permanent freedom from birth ageing sickness and death, we will be permanently liberated from all kind of suffering and we will be able to benefit so many living beings through our emanations. So how kind we are being to ourself.

In addition, through the great kindness of our Spiritual Guide we have another method of reaching Keajra Pure Land, which is the special method to reaching Keajra Pure Land without abandoning this human body - the uncommon yoga of inconceivability. This is unique to Vajrayogini practitioners.

In Tibet it was principally given by Je Phabongkhapa and then Trijang Rinpoche. The teaching was given very strictly. Not giving publicly, but gave it to no more than 7 people at a time. This teaching was called a golden Dharma because you couldn’t receive it without offering gold. I discussed directly with Trijang Rinpoche how to make this suitable for Western people. I asked him many questions, especially on HYT. He gave only one reply - “don’t worry, my students are Tibetan so I have to follow Tibetan traditions. But your students are not Tibetan, so you have to follow your society.” I asked him, “are you saying that I can change things to do what is suitable?” And he said, “yes.”

Anyone can practise this is they have faith. So i stopped this strict rule and opened this practice because it is very precious.

Today I am giving some practical commentary to the uncommon yoga of inconceivability.

(N.B. there is a common yoga of inconceivability, and an uncommon yoga of inconceivability.)

It is not meant to be a part of QPTGB, it is a stand alone practice. It is an uncommon practice of Vajrayogini Tantra. This special training is not contained in the tantras of other deities. This is or good fortune, received through the great kindness of Je Phabongkhapa and Trijang Rinpoche. It has inconceivable meaning and gives us inconceivable meaning I’m this life and countless future lives. Generally the practice of transference of consciousness is very popular in Mahayana Buddhism. Transference of consciousness means that the consciousness leaves this body and goes to the pure land of Buddha through meditation. Buddha explained this in Tantra, especially for people who are rushing to attain permanent liberation from suffering. They are rushing because their renunciation is so strong they no longer want to remain in this suffering world. This is the technology to reach the pure land of Buddha quickly. We can do this through the strength of our renunciation without much experience of emptiness.

This superior transference of consciousness is more profound and far superior to other practices of transference of consciousness. It can reach pure land without abandoning this body. Generally it is impossible for our body to reach a pure land. The human body is a contaminated body, a source of suffering. This technical method works very well. When practitioners engage in this practice their consciousness does not leave this body, but their body goes with them to Keajra pure land. When their consciousness reaches Keajra pure land, their body will reach there at the same time. At that time it will immediately transform into the nature of light. An 80 year old practitioner will attain a body of a 16 year old with the nature of light, and filled with bliss. Our contaminated body transforms into an uncontaminated body. If we attain this pure land we almost become an enlightened being.
