08. Meditation 3

We should know that it’s our SG’s deepest wish for us to realise emptiness, and thereby liberate ourselves and all living beings from suffering - this is the real meaning of our human life. We can walk through that door of emptiness in our life. To do this we need to recognise that self-grasping is the source of all our suffering.

Gather all blame into one. [Geshe Chekhawa]

This is our self-grasping ignorance. Reading from the introduction to the Yoga of Buddha Vajrapani:

📖
Whenever we experience problems, suffering or difficulties we should blame our self-grasping ignorance, a mind that mistakenly believes the self or I that we normally see actually exists. We should recognise that all our problems are the result of our non-virtuous actions, which were created by our self-grasping ignorance. Without self-grasping ignorance there would be no basis for us to experience problems and suffering. Understanding this we should make the strong determination to recognise, reduce, and finally abandon completely our self-grasping ignorance.

To do this we need to receive powerful blessings of all the Buddhas through our SG. If we align our wishes with our SG’s, he will be delighted, and we will definitely receive his blessings.

Identify the object of negation - see how it appears as if it is truly here, without depending on anything else for its existence. We need to understand what inherent existence really is.

Things can appear because they are empty of existing inherently.
